the electronic parking brake has to be retracted via VAG before the pistons can be pushed in fully. Unfortunately my VAG is too old to work in this car. I'm gonna borrow a newer VAG from a friend tonite, hopefully I can get this finished tomorrow am. Stupid VW with their unnecessary features, what exactly was wrong with a mechanical parking brake? All this is doing is adding extra complexity (read: one more thing to go wrong) and making the lives of DIY enthusiasts that much harder.
